This project involved a complete redesign of a PCB to fit into an existing enclosure. A couple of interesting changes made this endeavor quite challenging:
To reduce cost, a 900 MHz RF module was merged into the base PCB design. This required careful manipulation of gerber data and close collaboration with the manufacturer to maintain FCC compliance.
Cellular connectivity was added, requiring the integration of a board mount antenna without interference with the existing plastic housing.
The USB connector was upgraded to USB-C requiring schematic level changes and slight modifications to the plastic tooling for a proper fit.
